Bald is Beautiful!

Well, the time finally came. Cynthia's hair started to come out in her brush at the end of last week. She purposely minimized the brushing to mitigate the damage. However, she had to get herself presentable for Church on Sunday - which required a bit of brushing. When I went into the bathroom afterward, my first impression was that someone had thrown a toupee away in our garbage. However, the morning fog quickly cleared and the reality sank in. She made it through Sunday and Monday, but by Monday night, there was no use delaying the inevitable. So, with a set of clippers, a little trepidation on my part and a funny movie for Cynthia to watch, I set about the task of finishing the job. While certainly memorable, it will not rank very high on my list of favorite memories. The movie (While You Were Sleeping) helped distract us both. For the most part, I was not concerned about the quality of my work - after all, bald is bald. My sole objective was to not draw blood. Objective achieved!
Cynthia has been a trooper through it all. She has faced this - as with every other facet of this process - with a great deal of courage, humor and faith. These are just a few of her many attributes that in my opinion make her the most beautiful woman in the world - with or without hair! So, for me, right now - Bald is Beautiful!
Thank you for all of your prayers and support!
